# GCP Secret Association

During the process of setting up a GCP integration, you will be prompted to enter the secret information associated with the GCP instance and cloud services.

The secret allows Apono to sync and provision access to cloud resources without needing to store credentials for the GCP environment.

### Prerequisite

<table><thead><tr><th width="249">Item</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>GCP Secret</strong></td><td>Secret with access granted to the Apono connector<br><br>For more information, learn how to <a href="creating-secrets-in-google-secret-manager">create secrets in Google Secret Manager</a>.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Add the secret

{% hint style="danger" %}
Since secrets are based upon instance-specific credentials, choosing an incorrect secret will cause the integration to fail.
{% endhint %}

1. Under **Secret Store**, click on the **GCP** tab. The GCP fields appear.
2. Enter the **Project** name.
3. In the **Secret ID** field, enter the secret.
