Requesting Access with Teams

Use the Apono Teams app to request access

If your admin has integrated Apono with Teams, you can use Teams to request, view, and receive permission to services, databases, and applications that are centrally managed through Apono.

Requesting access with Teams offers several benefits:

  • Streamline access requests to resources without navigating complex IT systems

  • Centralize access visibility to view pending approvals and current permissions

  • Improve security and compliance with centrally managed access

  • Enhance collaboration by enabling approvers to grant or deny requests directly in Teams

Request access

You can request access to specific resources, an integration, or a bundle in Teams.

Resources Request tab

A resources request lets you select specific resources and permissions from all available items across cloud environments. Upon submission, Apono separates the form into individual requests based on each resource's access flow.

Follow these steps to request access to resources:

  1. In the Teams menu, click My Requests > New Request. The New Request page appears.

  2. (Optional) On the Resources Request tab, in the Resources field, enter the name of a resource.

  3. (Optional) Apply one or both filters to refine the list of resources.

    1. From the Resource Type dropdown menu, select one or several resource types to filter the list of resources.

    2. From the Permission dropdown menu, select one or several permissions to filter the list of resources.

  4. Select one or several resources. You can select a maximum of 1,000 resources.

  5. Enter the Duration (in Hours) that you want to have access to the resource.

  6. Enter a Justification explaining why you are requesting access to the resource.

  7. Click Request. The request will appear with its status on the Open Requests or Closed Requests tab.

You will also receive a notification through Teams.

Request access again

If your access has expired, been revoked, or been rejected, you can request the same access again.

Follow these steps to request access to resources, an integration, or a bundle:

  1. On the Closed Requests tab, in the row of your desired request, click Request again. A popup window appears.

  2. Enter a Justification explaining why you are resubmitting the request.

  3. Click Submit. The request will appear with its status on the Open Requests or Closed Requests tab.

You will also receive a notification through Teams.\

Use access details

View Details popup

If your access is approved and granted, you will receive a Teams message from Apono. The access request will appear as Granted in your Requests screen. You can use this information to access the requested resources.

Follow these steps to use your access details:

  1. On the My Requests page, select the request.

  2. Click View Details. A popup appears displaying your access details.

  3. Copy the access details.

For sensitive resources, access details will only appear once. If you return to the View Details popup to retrieve the details again, you will be required to reset the credentials.
