# Kubernetes Secret Association

{% hint style="success" %}
Before associating a Kubernetes secret, follow the steps for [Creating Secrets in Kubernetes](/docs/kubernetes-environment/creating-secrets-in-kubernetes.md).
{% endhint %}

During the process of setting up a Kubernetes integration, you will be prompted to enter the secret information associated with the Kubernetes instance and cloud services.

The secret allows Apono to sync and provision access to cloud resources without needing to store credentials for the Kubernetes environment.

***

## Add the secret

{% hint style="danger" %}
Since secrets are based upon instance-specific credentials, choosing an incorrect secret will cause the integration to fail.
{% endhint %}

Follow these steps to add the secret to an integration:

1. Under **Secret Store**, click on the **KUBERNETES** tab.
2. Enter the **Namespace** for the secret.
3. In the **Name** field, enter the name of the secret.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.apono.io/docs/kubernetes-environment/kubernetes-secret-association.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
